January 26, Lithuanian Ambassador to Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas in his official residence in Stockholm organized an informal meeting for Lithuanian businessmen working in Sweden. The meeting was attended by more than 30 Lithuanians, working in various establishments in Sweden or having their business in Sweden, representatives from Swedish companies operating in Lithuania and the Lithuanian Embassy representatives. 

 

The speaker of this first informal meeting of this nature was Cecilia Hermansson, Swedbank Group's chief economist. During the meeting, she presented Lithuania's  Economic review of 2011 and 2012 prospects.

 

Business contacts between Sweden and Lithuania are stable and increasingly intensifying. According to statistics Sweden is currently the largest investor in Lithuania. In addition, Swedish banks have a dominant position in Lithuania. Communication, transport and energy sectors are also increasing. But at the same time, there are still plenty of opportunities for cooperation to be used.
